Clark County Mule festival 2006

Kris, Jeff, Beth, Kaliha, and Dave and our mules Star, Kate and Buttons traveled to the 21st annual Clark County mule festival in Kahoka Mo.

We did some trail riding, won some prizes, shopped, participated in Mule polo(Mules, Brooms, beach ball and barrels for goals) and many other fun games, and got to watch some cool mule rodeos.

Mule Polo- We played four 3 minute quarters. Dave and Jeff were put on separate teams (on purpose I think). Dave's team played first against a different team than Jeff's. 1 minute into Mule polo the mule next to Dave's ran into a corner chasing the ball and then when the ball bounced back at that mule it leaped in to the air and threw his rider into the wall. Jeff riding Star	We were getting stomped 5 to 1 so we drug the barrels of the goal closer together when referee wasn't looking and put two goalies in the goal. When the crowd roared we were cheating the referee stretched our goal to half the arena wide.

Becky the event organizer/referee wanted to try a new event called "Mule basket ball" she decided Jeff and I would be good for this (translation =we would be funny trying). We had to stay on our mules while a guy on the ground tried to fire a water balloon sling loaded with a basketball with us holding the slingshot arms.
